Hayashi is an original Japanese dish with fried sliced beef, onion stewed with red wine and demi-glace sauce. This is a block-form gravy mix (roux) made of wheat flour, spices, seasonings, oil and vegetable powder. Simply stir-fry meat and onions, add water and this mix, stir to dissolve and let it simmer. You will have a simple, delicious, no-hassle meal in no time.
It goes perfectly well with rice, bread or mashed potatoes. You can also use as a dipping sauce for steamed vegetables, a sauce for gratin or ingredient for pot pie. This Hayashi mix contains no meat derived ingredients.
