This large ceramic bowl is typically used for Bibimba (Korean style mixed rice served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sauteed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepperpaste), soy sauce, or doenjang, a fermented soybean paste. You can put it on a open flame and keep a heat as a stone does. It will soar up to 572°F (300°C) in 5 minutes on a gas stove, also retain the heat just as long as a stone pot.
This bowl is usually made of stone, but it is designed for an easy use being made of ceramic and more resistant to cracks than a stone pot.
They can also be used for ramen bowls or serving bowls.
