Mentaiko is the marinated Pollock roe. Mentaiko originated in Korea, where it is known as Myeongran Jeot. This product is already removed from its sack and ready to be used in any dish. Mentaiko is a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine, traditionally served as a side dish, served with steamed rice in Japan or inside onigiri (rice ball). Mentaiko is used in the popular dish Mentaiko Spaghetti or Mentaiko Pasta. To create this dish, simply combine butter, mayonnaise (optional) and Tarako or Mentaiko(removed from the sac) and mix into boiled spaghetti. Sprinkle with Urashima Shredded Seaweed Kizami Nori 0.35 oz (10g) (62009), or other desired toppings.
