This ceramic jar is traditionally used for sauce (called 'tare') in yakitori or kushiyaki (skewed foods) restaurants where had created their original sauce and keep in it. Using sauce then adding new sauce can keep their traditional taste for many years. Keeping homemade pickles will be the other use of this jar.
