This Mino-style ware from Gifu prefecture is one of the most famous types of Japanese pottery, with over 400 years of history. These ceramics are thick and sturdy, with a rustic design. The Gosu (呉須) glaze used to decorate this large square plate is one of the traditional and familiar color on Japanese pottery, and the dynamic, vibrant brushstroke can be a good presentation especially for sashimi assortments.
