Widely known as black cod, the formal name for Gindara is sablefish. The fish is marinated in Saikyo miso from Kyoto, which is mild and sweet, with less sodium than typical miso - simply defrost and pan-fry/grill. Each package contains 2 fillets, great for dinner during busy weekdays.

🍳How to cook Suzunami Marinade Fish
PREPARATION
  • Remove fish from packaging.
  • With a paper towel, wipe off any excess moisture and marinade.
TOASTER OVEN INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil. Fold sides to create walls around the edges to prevent any broth from spilling.
  2. In a 400° oven, bake skin side up for 4-5 minutes. Bake the backside for 3-4 minutes.
STOVETOP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Line heated frying pan with parchment paper. Place fish skin side down.
  2. On medium heat, cook for 3-5 minutes. When sufficiently browned, flip fillet.
  3. Lower heat slightly and cook other side for an additional 3-5 minutes (*cooking time will depend on the thickness of fish).
FISH GRILL INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Pour a small amount of water at the bottom of the grill.
  2. Coat grill grates with oil to prevent fish from sticking. Place fish skin side up.
  3. Bake on low heat (top and bottom) for 5 to 6 minutes (*cooking time will depend on the thickness of fish + model of the fish grill).
