Suehiro Debado SNE #6000 Knife Sharpening Stone

98754

The Debado SNE line is an evolutionary iteration of Suehiro's old Debado line produced individually by hand with the goal of being more wear resistant while retaining its excellent cutting speed. Like all others in the Debado line, these stones are splash and go and more resistant to dishing than Suehiro's Cerax line making them perfect for heavy-handed sharpeners looking for stones with easy maintenance and a long service life. All Debado SNE come attached to a convenient base and stow away into a shielded compartment.

The Debado 6000# SNE has a similar abrasive concentration and cutting speed to the New Cerax 6000# but is manufactured differently so that its friability and therefore speed of wear is reduced. The reduced friability will mean that it polishes wide bevel knives slightly less consistently but it is much easier to achieve a very keen edge. This stone produces a workable mud on wide-bevel clad knives quite readily but on double bevel knives generates mostly swarf. This is an excellent alternative to the Shapton Glass 6k and will have more tactile feedback and a more usable height in comparison.
