There’s still a winter chill in the air. Staying home is a great option during these cold days and having an easy-prepared one pot dish that has balanced ingredients such as vegetables, protein, and minerals! We would like to introduce to you Buta (pork) Shabu Shabu Hotpot, a delicious winter warmer.
How to cook Buta Shabu
1) Making dashi - Add water and dashi into a pot. Bring water to a boil (Kombu dashi is usually used for the Shabu Shabu stock but you can substitute with katsuo (fish) dashi, tonkotsu, soy sauce or miso based soup).
2) Add your choice of ingredients such as cabbage, tofu, mushroom, shirataki, spring onion, etc, to the stock and cook.
3) Dip the thinly sliced pork into the stock and swirl around until cooked (color will turn white), about 30 seconds.
4) Enjoy with ponzu sauce!
